Junior Carlos De La Rosa (Holyoke, Mass./Holyoke) was named the MASCAC's Male Field Athlete of the Week this past week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
De La Rosa led Fitchburg State to a sixth place finish at the Jim Sheehan Memorial, posting trio of qualifying honors.
In a career day for the junior athlete, De La Rosa performed well both in the field and on the track, taking top honors in the triple jump (13.70m) and second place honors in the long jump (6.84m), while also qualifying for the ECACs in both events. Additionally, De La Rosa anchored the Falcons third place 4x100 relay (42.79) that posted an All-New England qualifying time.
The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s outdoor track teams will be in action again this Saturday as it travels to the University of Massachusetts Lowell starting at 11 a.m.
