Junior Kelley Rogers (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) earns her first Soarin Falcon award of the season after leading the Fitchburg State women's basketball this past week.
In an 0-2 week for the Falcons, Rogers lit up the scoreboard, averaging 21 points per game with five rebounds per contest and 1.5 blocks. The junior guard posted a sesaon-best 26 points and six boards in a 81-79 overtime setback to Nichols College, while netting 16 points and four caroms vs. Simmons.
This season, Rogers has led the Falcons offense, posting a team-best 13.0 ppg on 27-of-74 shooting (.365 pct). The junior guard is hitting a team-high .846 pct from the charity stripe (22-of-26), while posting six rebounds per game and nine steals.
The Fitchburg State women's basketball team (2-4, 0-0 MASCAC) will be back in action on Tuesday night as it hosts Western New England College at 7 p.m.
