Junior Jordan Cannava (Woburn, Mass./Melrose) lifted the Fitchburg State football team to a 23-7 non-divisional victory over UMass Dartmouth this past week.

Cannava led the Falcons comeback trail, posting 23 unanswered points for their second victory of the season. The junior quarterback tossed for 185 yards and one touchdown on 16-of-26 passing. Cannava also added 40 yards on the ground, while finding the endzone with a one yard TD run.

This season, Cannava has been solid since stepping into the starting quarterback role. He has totaled 498 yards passing, posting a 130.05 quarterback rating with a 54.3% completion rating. Over the first three games, Cannava has mustered four touchdown passes, two touchdown runs, while averaging 166 yards in the air per game.

The Fitchburg State football team (2-1, 0-0 NEFC)  will be back in action this Saturday as it opens its New England Football Conference schedule at Framingham State starting at 1:30 p.m.
