Senior running back Steve Austin (Jupiter, Fla./Stony Brook) paced the Fitchburg State football team this past weekend as the Falcons battled Framingham State College to a 40-37 setback.

Austin led the Falcons 40 point attack, rushing for a team-high 185 yards and one touchdown. The senior captain registered a long run of 76 yards, averaging an incredible 10.3 yards per carry on 18 attempts.

This season, Austin has led the Falcons running game with 488 yards on 89 carries. He has found the endzone four times, while averaging 122 yards per game. Austin has also been a receiving threat for the Falcons, posting 94 yards on nine catches.

The Fitchburg State football team (2-2, 0-1 NEFC) will be back in action this Saturday as it hosts Bridgewater State College at 1:30 p.m.
