Sophomore Madeline Merchant (Gardner, Mass./Monty Tech) collects hersecond consecutive Soarin Falcon honor after being tabbed the MASCAC's Track Athlete of the Week.
Merchant rounded out the duo of Falcons indoor track honorees as she earned her first MASCAC weekly honor of the season. The sophomore sprinter led Fitchburg State at the Division III Championships, placing sixth overall in 55 meter dash with a time of 7.54.
For her efforts, Merchant earned a trip to the All-New England meet next week while also qualifying for the ECAC Championships.
The Fitchburg State indoor track team will be back in action this Friday as it travels to the All-New England Championships this weekend hosted by Boston University.
