Zach Desrochers, Men's Track & Field
Senior Zach Desrochers (Dracut, Mass./Greater Lowell) collects his fourth Soaring Falcon honor of the season after recently being tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASACAC) Men's Field Athletic of the Week as announced by the league office Sunday evening.
Desrochers led the Fitchburg State men's outdoor track and field team as they hosted the 2013 Eric Loeschner Memorial Meet on Saturday afternoon. The third year Falcon qualified for four post season honors (MASCAC/DIII NE/All-NE/ECAC) in both the discus and hammer throw, taking top honors in the discus with a throw of 46.70 meters before following that up with a fifth place effort in the hammer throw with a toss of 49.27 meters.
The Fitchburg State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams return to action on Saturday as they competer at the 2013 MASCAC/Alliance meet hosted by Bridgewater State, starting at 11 a.m.
