Marissa Binnall, Softball
Junior Marissa Binnall (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) collects her first Soaring Falcon honor of the season after leading the Fitchburg State softball team to a 1-1 spilt with conference rival MCLA on Saturday afternoon.
The second year Falcon batted .300 including a double, two RBI, four runs scored and a pair of stolen bases in the two games with MCLA on Saturday. Binnall paced the Fitchburg State offense in the opening contest, posting a double, two RBI and two runs scored as the Falcons took game one, 6-3 before adding one hit, two stolen bases and pair of runs in a 4-3 setback in the nightcap.
The Fitchburg State softball team returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts the Mariners of Mitchell College for a twin billing starting at 3 p.m.
