Tori Cyrus, Softball
Freshman Tori Cyrus (Everett, Mass./Everett) collects her first Soaring Falcon honor of the season after recently being named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
Cyrus guided the Fitchburg State Softball team to a 5-1 week, hitting .556 (10-for-18) with a pair of doubles, five runs scored and nine RBI over the course of six games. The first year Falcon posted two hits with a pair of RBI in Fitchburg State's 5-3 setback to Regis College in the second game of a double header on Thursday evening before combining for four hits, four runs scored and five RBI in the Falcons twin bill sweep of conference opponent Mass. Maritime Academy on Sunday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State softball team returns to action on Wednesday as it visits the Engineers of WPI for a double header starting at 3 p.m. (Game will be played at Fitchburg State with WPI as the home team)
