Niles nets two goals for Green & Gold

Fitchburg, MA - The Fitchburg State ice hockey team earned a 4-0 victory over the Lancers of Worcester State this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Wallace Civic Center.

How It Happened

In the middle frame, Fitchburg State broke the 0-0 stalemate 53 seconds into the stanza as freshman Devin Niles (Hatfield, MA) settled a feed from junior Hunter Dunn (Douglas, MA) and fired a shot into the right side of the net for his sixth marker on the season for the 1-0 edge.

The Falcons doubled its (2-0) at the 13:10 mark when freshman Tye Battipaglia (Cheshire, CT) gathered a feed from Dunn and newcomer Aleksei Filimonov (Saint Petersburg, Russia) and deposited a shot inside the near post for his sixth tally of the 2025-26 campaign.

In the third period of play, the Green and Gold pushed the lead to 3-0 with Filimonov finding the back of the net midway through the period for his fourth score of the season with an assist from Dunn. The hosts secured the victory three minutes later as Niles connected on his second goal of the contest with assists from Battipaglia and Filimonov, resulting in the 4-0 final
