Kibler Tabbed MASCAC Track Athlete Of The Week
Bath, Maine native earns POW honors after breaking 34 year old record at MASCAC’s
FITCHBURG, Mass. (May 3, 2012) – Senior Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine/Morse) was named the MASCAC’s Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office earlier this week.
Kibler earned his MASCAC weekly honor after leading the Fitchburg State men’s track and field team at the 2012 MASCAC/Alliance Invitational hosted by Westfield State University. The senior distance runner took top honors in the 10,000 meter run, posting an ECAC qualifying time odf 31:20.89, while also breaking a 34-year old conference record in the event. Kibler also competed in the 5000m run, placing third in the MASCAC with a time of 15:46.38.
The men’s and women’s track teams will be in action on Saturday as they compete at the Division III New England Championships hosted by MIT.
