Men's Basketball Drops Overtime Decision To Rams In MASCAC Action
Rosario nets team-best 14 points for Green & Gold
Framingham, MA – The Fitchburg State Men's Basketball team dropped an 83-74 decision to the Rams of Framingham State this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening from the Logan Gymnasium.

How It Happened
First Half
Framingham State grabbed an 8-5 edge on buckets from junior Joshua Saint Jean (Lynn, MA) and junior Dyree Rogers (New City, NY) before Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 8-7 as junior Braeden White (Spencer, MA) sank a pair from the charity stripe.
The Rams upped the advantage to 20-14 when graduate student AJ Thompson (Mebane, NC) netted a jumper, but the Falcons reduced the lead to 22-20 with junior Jalen Jackson (San Antonio, TX) burying back-to-back three-balls.
The hosts pushed the margin to 29-24 when senior Vondre Chase (Watertown, MA) netted a layup before the Green and Gold reduced the deficit to 29-28 going into the break when junior Joshua Jean Charles (Dorchester, MA) notched a layup and classmate Tommy Engel-Chatten (Hopkinton, MA) added two free-throws.
Second Half
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State took a 43-35 lead when Jackson, senior Nicolas Von Zboray (Sacramento, CA) and junior Matthew Drayton (Roxbury, MA) netted buckets before Framingham State answered back with junior Domonick Victor (Stockton, CA) registered a bucket to make the score 43-37.
The Falcons extended the margin to 59-50 as Engel-Chatten drilled a three-ball and added two free throws, but senior Vondrw Chase (Watertown, MA) answered back for the Rams, hitting a layup to cut the deficit to 59-52.
Fitchburg State extended the margin to 66-61 as Drayton hit two free-throws before Framingham State knotted the contest at 70-70 junior Lorenzo Washington (Middletown, CT) hit two from the charity stripe to force overtime.
Overtime
With the contest knotted at 70-70, Framingham State grabbed an 80-71 edge as Victor coverted an and one, resulting in the 83-74 final.
Inside the Numbers
- Rosario paced the Falcons with a team-best 14 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal
- Drayton added 12 points and five boards
- For the Rams, Chase finished with a game-leading 24 points, eight caroms, four assists, two steals and one block
