FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State men's basketball team suffered its first loss at the hands of the Engineers of WPI in non-conference action, 85-65.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- WPI ran out to a 26-9 lead to start the game. The Falcons would find a way to stop the Engineers' offensive production and rally back to within just four as the half closed out. WPI would stretch the lead back out to 11 going into the break. The second half was all the Engineers as they outscored the Falcons 47-38, putting them securely out of reach.
- The Engineers were paced by Nathan Bledsoe, who had a game-high 26 points, going 7-of-9 from three and 7-for-11 from the floor. Justin Molen also put up solid numbers for WPI, with 18 points and a team-best eight rebounds.
- It was Jalen Jackson (San Antonio, TX) leading the way again for Fitchburg. He finished with 17 points and a team-best seven rebounds. Xavier Smaltz (Allentown, PA) played well for the Falcons, scoring 14 points.
