Volleyball Tabbed Academic Team of the Year
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Senior Director of Athletics and Recreation Matthew Burke announced today that the Volleyball team has been named the 2021-22 Fitchburg State University Academic Team of the Year.
The team academic award recognizes the squad with the highest collective grade point average (GPA) over the 2021-22 academic year. Volleyball ranked number one, with a GPA of 3.42 out of 17 sports sponsored by Fitchburg State University.
One team member finished with a perfect 4.0, and a pair of teammates with over a 3.8 GPA. Nine student-athletes had above a 3.6 GPA.
Women's Indoor Track & Field (3.37 GPA) and Ice Hockey (3.33 GPA.) finished second and third, respectively.
