MASCAC Outdoor Pre-Season Poll Announced

Falcons tabbed fourth with a total of 13 points

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's outdoor track and field team was recently selected fourth with a total of 13 points in the 2021 MASCAC Pre-Season Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coaches Poll as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.

The Owls of Westfield State were selected as the pre-season favorite to win the 2021 crown with 22 points, collecting two first place ballots while just edging out Bridgewater State that was second with 21 points and two first place votes. Worcester State received the other two first place votes good enough for third place with 19 total points. 

Fitchburg State followed in fourth with 13 points. Framingham State was next, finishing in fifth with nine  points, while Mass. Maritime closed out this year's MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll in sixth with six points.

The Falcons open the 2021 season at Bridgewater State this Saturday.
