Women’s Track Places 23rd At 2026 DIII NE Championships
Goba sets program record time of 17:38.35 in the 5000 meter
Boston, MA – The Fitchburg State University Women's Indoor Track & Field placed 23rd with a total of 10.50 points at the 2026 DIII New England Championships today at the New Balance Track.

How It Happened
Senior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing sixth overall in the 5000 meter with an All-New England qualifying and new school record time of 17:38.35, break a 42-year old program record held by Debbie Cassinelli before adding a 21st place effort in the 3000 meter with a time of 10:45.45, while classmate Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with an All-NE qualifying and PR time of 8.90 seconds before placing sixth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.58 meters.
The 4x200 meter relay team of Camara, senior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA), freshman Nevaeh Hurley (Fitchburg, MA) and sophomore Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) finished 24th overall with a time of 1:55.66.
