Women’s Track Places Fourth At 2026 MASCAC WITK Championships

Camara takes top honors in the high jump & 60 meter hurdles

Norton, MA – The Fitchburg State University Women's Indoor Track & Field placed fourth with a total of 62 points at the 2026 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet, hosted by Wheaton College on Sunday evening.

How It Happened

Senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) finished first overall in 60 meter hurdles with an All-New England qualifying time of 9.12 seconds and first overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters, while classmate Skye Goba (Norton, MA) finished second overall in the 5000 meter with a time of 18:41.69.as well as taking top honors in the 3000 meter with a time of 10:52.44.

Sophomore Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) (9th), senior Alanis Velez (Lowell, MA)  (18th) and newcomer Dehkontee Cooper (Haverhill, MA) (19th) turned in times of 8.57, 9.04 and 9.10 seconds in the 60 meter dash, while in the 400 meter, senior Trishannah Scott (Fitchburg, MA) and junior Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) placed seventh and 11th overall with times of 1:08.14 and 1:11.87.

In the 200 meter, Robinson finished 14th overall with a time of 29:58 seconds, while in the 800 meter, junior Gwendolyn Connors (Ayer, MA) finished fourth with a time of 2:36.73.

In the field, junior Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) finished third overall in the shotput with a toss of 10.18 meters, while in the long jump, freshman Nevaeh Hurley (Fitchburg, MA) and Velez placed sixth and ninth overall with marks of 4.59 meters and 4.13 meters.

In the high jump, Hurley finished seventh overall with a mark of 1.32 meters, while in the weight throw, Crout finished first with a toss of 12.92 meters. The 4x400 meter relay team of Connors, Toste, Velez and Toste finished fourth overall with a time of 4:48.91.
