Camara Selected MASCAC WITK Field Athlete Of The Week

Lowell, MA. native collects second weekly accolade of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Camara notched her second weekly accolade of the 2026 season after taking top honors in the 60 meter hurdles with an All-New England qualifying time of 8.96 seconds, while finishing first overall in the high jump with a DIII NE qualifying mark of 1.63 meters. In addition, Makany placed second overall in the long jump with a mark of 4.92 meters for the Green and Gold at the 2026 Mary Grinaker Invite on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Women's Indoor Track team returns to action on Friday as they compete at the 2026 Coast Guard Academy Winter Invitational.
