Women’s Track Excels At 2026 Wesleyan Alumni Invitational
Goba leads the way for Green & Gold with third place effort in the mile
Middletown, CT – The Fitchburg State University Women's Indoor Track & Field returned to action as they competed at the 2026 Wesleyan Alumni Invitational today at the Bacon Field House.

How It Happened
Senior Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing third overall in the mile with a time of 5:22.47.
In the 60 meter dash, senior Makany Camara (Lowell, MA) (10th), freshman Nevaeh Hurley (Fitchburg, MA) (25th) and classmate Dehkontee Cooper (Haverhill, MA) (28th) turned in times of 8.41 seconds, 9.06 seconds and 9.29 seconds, while junior Alexis Toste (Lowell, MA) turned in 15th place time of 1:13.13 in the 400 meter.
In the 800 meter, junior Gwendolyn Connors (Ayer, MA) and sophomore Morgan Ruel (Dracut, MA) placed ninth and 17th with times of 2:39.70 and 3:47.61, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Connors, Hurley, junior Trishannah Scott (Fitchburg, MA) and Toste finished ninth with a time of 4:46.00.
In the 200 meter, Camara (11th) and Connors (25th) notched times of 28.40 and 30.57 seconds, while, in the long jump, Camara (fifth), Scott (12th) and Hurley (17th) registered a marks of 4.98, 4.54 and 4.39 meters.
In the field, junior Taylor Crout (Boise, ID) finished 14th overall in the shotput with a toss of 9.97 meters, while finishing 11th overall in the weight throw with a toss of 11.77 meters.
