Women's Soccer Upended By Cougars In Non-Conference Action
Gagnon nets first collegiate goal for Green & Gold
Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team fell 3-1 to the Cougars of Clark University this evening in non-conference action from Elliot Field.

How It Happened
Clark opened the scoring at the 20:05 mark as sophomore Selene Hammad (Franklin, MA) settled a through ball from classmate Georgia Louis (West Hartford, CT) and deposited a shot into the right side of the net for her first marker on the season for the 1-0 edge.
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State knotted the score at 1-1 in the 54th minute when senior Sera Gagnon (Agawam, MA) received a pass from classmate Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ) and fired a shot into the back of the net for her first collegiate tally.
The Cougars regained the advantage (2-1) at the 70:25 marker with senior Gabriella Herivaux (Canton, MA) buried a shot into the left side of the net off a feed from freshman Calabria Augustino (Mechanicsville, NY) for her third tally on the season.
The visitors secured the victory with 15 minutes remaining in regulation as senior Emma Shaughnessy (Fairfield, CT) found the back of the net for her fourth score of the 2025-26 campaign, resulting in the 3-1 final.
