MASCAC Pre-Season Women’s Soccer Poll Announced
FITCHBURG, Mass. –The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team was recently selected sixth overall with 20 points in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season women’s soccer poll as voted on by the league’s coaches.

FITCHBURG, Mass. –The Fitchburg State women's soccer team was recently selected sixth overall with 20 points in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season women's soccer poll as voted on by the league's coaches.
Westfield State, the 2021 MASCAC regular season champions, earned seven of the eight first place votes to place first overall with 49 points to outdistance second place Bridgewater State's total of 41 points, which included the remaining first place ballots.
Worcester State was next in the third slot with 39 points, while Salem State followed in fourth with a total of 28 points. Framingham State placed fifth with 27 points, while Fitchburg State landed in the sixth spot with 20 points. Rounding out the 2022 MASCAC Women's Soccer Pre-Season Poll were MCLA and Mass. Maritime in 12 and eighth place with eight points and seven points respectively.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football in 2013-14.
The Fitchburg State women's soccer team will kick off its 2022 season on Thursday, September 1st as they travel o Dean College to take on the Bulldogs of Dean College in non-conference action starting at 12:00 PM.
