MASCAC Pre-Season Women’s Soccer Poll Announced
FITCHBURG, Mass. –The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team was recently selected seventh overall with 13 points in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season women’s soccer poll as voted on by the league’s coaches.

FITCHBURG, Mass. –The Fitchburg State women's soccer team was recently selected seventh overall with 13 points in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season women's soccer poll as voted on by the league's coaches.
Worcester State, the reigning MASCAC regular season and post-season tournament champions, earned five of the eight first place votes to place first overall with 46 points to outdistance second place Westfield State's total of 43 points, which included the final three first place ballots.
Bridgewater State and Framingham State followed tied for third with 33 points each, while Salem State placed fifth with a total of 30 points. MCLA captured sixth place with 19 points, while Fitchburg State and Mass-Maritime rounded out the 2015 MASCAC women's soccer poll with 13 points and nine points respectively.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University will join the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
The Fitchburg State women's soccer team will kick off its 2014 season on Wednesday, September 3rd as it hosts Emmanuel College at 7:00 p.m.
