How It Happened
The green and gold opened the contest with a trey from Mikayler Patch (North Attleboro, Mass), but Framingham State answered with four points apiece from Faith Green and Kelsey Yelle to jump out to an 8–3 advantage. Kyelah Smith (Bloomfield, CT) got the Falcons back on the scoreboard with a layup at the 4:06 mark, though the Rams continued to build their lead.
Facing a 21–5 deficit late in the opening quarter, the Falcons closed the period on a 7–0 run. Patch sparked the spurt with a jumper from the elbow, while Smith and Monet Augmon (New London, CT) each added buckets to trim the margin.
In the second quarter, Augmon converted a three-point play to pull the Falcons within 25–10. At the 7:20 mark, Alexis DeSimone (Ashburnham, Mass.) knocked down a three-pointer to cut the deficit to ten (28–18). Framingham State responded with seven unanswered points from Faith Green, however, to push the lead to 42–22 heading into halftime.
