Marazzi Earns WACBA Second Team Honors
WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior guard Angelina Marazzi (Manchester, N.H.) was named to the 2020-21 Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) all-second team as announced by the WACBA on Tuesday.
Manchester, N.H. native selected to 2020-21 WACBA Women’s Basketball Second Team
WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior guard Angelina Marazzi (Manchester, N.H.) was named to the 2020-21 Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) all-second team as announced by the WACBA on Tuesday.
Marazzi led the Falcons with a team-best 401 points on 137-of-369 shooting from the floor, while adding 126 rebounds, 64 assists, 40 steals and two blocks as well as recently becoming the 11th member in the history of the Fitchburg State women’s basketball program to eclipse the 1,000 point plateau.
Claiming the 2020-21 WACBA women’s basketball player of the year was senior Lauren Manis (Franklin, Mass.) of Holy Cross, while freshman Natasha Pacheco (Fairfax, Va.) of Becker was named the WACBA women’s basketball Rookie of the Year.
Rounding out the top award winners this season was head coach Karen Tessmer of Worcester State, who was voted as the WACBA women’s basketball Coach of the Year.
Earning spots on the 2020-21 All-WACBA First Team were Amber Wilson (New York, N.Y.) of Anna Maria, Manis and Avery LaBarbera (Harrison, N.Y.) from Holy Cross, Mya Mosley (Worcester, Mass.) from Worcester State, Hannah Favaloro (Blackstone, Mass.) of Clark and Brianna Capacchione (Washington Township, N.J.) from Assumption.
Joining Marazzi and Pacheco on the All-WACBA Second Team were Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.), from Becker, Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass.), Catherine Sweeney (Lowell, Mass.), Spencer Vinson (Los Angeles, Calif.) of WPI and Isabella Nerney (Guilford, Conn.) from Nichols.
