Mitchell Tabbed MASCAC and WACBA Women’s Basketball Rookie Of The Week
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman guard Mikaela Mitchell (Millbury, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) women’s basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office this week.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman guard Mikaela Mitchell (Millbury, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) women's basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference offices this week.
The first-year Falcon collects her second weekly accolade of the 2017-18 campaign after averaging 7.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game over three contests for the Green and Gold.
Mitchell registered a double-double of ten points and 11 rebounds to go along with two assists in a 94-80 setback to Mount Ida on Tuesday before adding four points, five boards and one steal in a 69-61 loss to Suffolk on Thursday. Mikaela concluded the week, posting eight points, three caroms and three steals in a 69-61 setback to Curry on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State women's basketball team (3-7, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts the Bison of Nichols College for a non-conference matchup starting at 7:00 P.M.
