Springfield, MA – The Fitchburg State University men's cross-country team sixth overall at the 2025 Western New England Golden Bear Invitational with a total of 214 points this morning, hosted by Western New England University.

How It Happened
Freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) paced the Green and Gold taking top honors with a time of 25:17.56 over the 8K course, while junior Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) followed 28th place with a time of 27:19.85.
Junior Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) was next for the Green and Gold, finishing in 57th place with a time of 2:57.50, while senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) entered chute in 109th place with a time of 31:10.58
Rounding out the top finishers for the Green and Gold were junior Lemuel Del Valle (Lawrence, MA) (112th), senior Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (124th) and senior Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA) (159th) with times of 31:21.31, 3;49.05 and 34:10.09 respectively.
