Bourassa, Mateo, Monette & Richburg Collect USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Outdoor Track & Field senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA), freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA), graduate student Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) and sophomore Shamar Richburg (Rio Vista, TX) were recently named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region East Team as announced by the USTFCCCA.

Bourassa collected four All-Region accolades after finishing in the top five regionally in javelin, hammer throw, discus and shot put, while ranking second nationally in the javelin, while Guevara Mateo finished the season, ranking within the top five in the 5000 meter and 10000 meter.

Monette concluded the 2026 campaign top five in the hammer throw, while Richburg finished the season, ranking top five regionally in the triple jump.

Top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each member of a top three ranked relay team.

The Fitchburg State Men's Outdoor Track & Field team returns to action this week as select members compete at the 2026 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse.
