Men’s Outdoor Track Shines At 2026 MIT Last Chance Qualifier
Bourassa and Mateo set new school records in the shotput and 5000 meter
Cambridge, Mass.– The Fitchburg State University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team returned to action this evening as select members competed at the 2026 MIT Last Chance Qualifier at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track.

Senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing fourth overall in the shotput with a new school record throw of 16.23 meters, finishing fifth overall in the discus with a toss of 44.96 meters and sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 56.58 meters, while newcomer Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) took top honors in the 5000 meter with a new school record time of 14:17.13.
