Men’s Track Hosts Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite On Senior Day

Bourassa notches four first places efforts for Green & Gold

Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational today on senior day as the Falcons honored nine seniors with the seniors being Liam Bourassa, Michael Burns, Omar ElmiMatthew Gill, Brady Madigan, Cameron Monette, Martin Onyimba, David Rodriguez and Robert Williams.

Senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) led the way for the Falcons, taking top honors in the javelin with an All-New England qualifying throw of 68.69 meters and first overall in the discus with an All-New England qualifying toss of 47.00 meters, first in the shot put with a DIII NE qualifying toss of 15.00 meter and first overall in hammer throw with an All-New England qualifying toss of 53.95 meters while classmate Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) finished fifth overall in the in the discus with a throw of 38.92 meters, fifth in the  shot put with a throw of 12.95 meters and second overall in hammer throw with a DIII New England qualifying toss of 51.49 meters.

Newcomer Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was also solid for the Green and Gold, placing first overall in the 1500 meter with a DIII New England qualifying time of 3:57.49 and second in the 800 meter with a time of 2:00.20, while senior Tyriek Williams (Canonsburg, PA) placed first overall in the 110 meter hurdles with a DIII NE qualifying time of 15.50 seconds.

In the 10,000 meter, senior Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) placed sixth overall with a time of 36:58.34, while in the 3000 meter steeplechase, senior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) and classmate Matthew Gill (Ayer, MA) placed fourth and sixth overall with times of 11:09.83 and 11:34.87.

The 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA), junior Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA), sophomore Jaiden Madden (Lynn, MA) and junior Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA) turned in a sixth place time of 43.40 seconds, while junior Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) placed fourth overall in the 1500 meter with a time of 4:09.95.

In the 400 meter, freshman Martin Griffith (Randolph, MA) placed seventh with a time of 53.34 seconds, while in the 800 meter, Edwards (4th), senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (5th) and Lancaster (21st) registered times of 2:01.72, 2:01.86 and 2:14.67.

Junior Jesse Moriello (Saugus, MA) and Gill placed fifth and 15th overall in the 400 meter hurdles with times of 58.85 seconds and 1:08.52, while Madden (19th), Williams (26th) and Tawiah (11.95) finished 11.49 seconds, 11.72 seconds and 11.96 seconds in the 100 meter.

In the 200 meter, Adamchek (25th), Clottier (36th), Madden (51st), Griffith (60th), Tawiah (64th) and Madigan (67th) posted times of 23.17, 23.47, 24.10, 24.30 24.54 and 24.75 seconds respectively.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Adamchek, Clottier Jr, Madden and Tawaih placed first overall with a time of 48.99 seconds, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Madigan, Griffith, Elmi and Clottier placed third overall with a time of 3:47.53.

In the field, junior Antonio Martinez-Pacheco (Nashua, NH) (4th), junior John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) (12th), freshman Vishnu Pithani (Mansfield, MA) (23rd), newcomer Nathan Murray (N. Billerica, MA) (28th)  and sophomore Joseph Imbracsio (34th) and turned in tosses of 44.08, 35.77, 29.83, 27.88 and 23.99 meters in the hammer throw, while junior Antonio Matinez Pacheco () (6th), Koutsouoa (18th), Imbracsio (31st), Murray (33rd) and Pitani (34th) notched tosses of 12.82M, 10.98M, 9.89M, 9.84M and 9.83M respectively.

In the long jump, sophomore Shamar Richburg (Rio Vista, TX) (7th), classmate Tafari Byfield-Felton (Fiskdale, MA) (22nd), sophomore Angel Lockward (Santo Domingo, DN) (39th), newcomer Kevin Tawiah (Worcester, MA) (46th) and junior Kyler Valdez (Lawrence, MA) (48th) turned in marks of 6.32, 5.90, 5.31, 4.82 and 4.42 meters, while in the discus, Imbracsio and Murray placed 17th and 23rd overall with marks of 36.86 meters and 34.93 meters. In the shot put.

In the pole vault, freshman Emile Rabinovich (Freeland, WA) finished sixth overall with a mark of 3.35 meters, while Lockward finished ninth in the long jump with a mark of 10.85 meters.
