14 Falcons finish in top 5 of respective events at Jonathan Tymann Invitational at Gordon College
WENHAM, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams turned in a strong showing this afternoon at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, hosted by Gordon College.
Women's Highlights
Makany Camara paced the Falcons with a dominant all-around effort, capturing two individual event titles on the day. Camara sprinted to a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.44 seconds before earning gold in the high jump with a clearance of 1.57 meters. She also added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (4.90 meters), showcasing her versatility across multiple events.
Trishannah Scott added to the Falcons' success in the field, recording a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.22 meters.
Men's Highlights
The men's team delivered a series of strong performances, highlighted by multiple event victories. Paulino Guevara Mateo led the way on the track, winning the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:05.74.
In the field, Shamar Richburg earned top honors in the triple jump with a mark of 13.44 meters while also placing fifth in the long jump (6.16 meters). Teammate Tafari Byfield Felton secured a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.01 meters, giving Fitchburg State two podium finishes in the event.
Tyriek Williams turned in a strong showing in the hurdles, claiming first place in the 110-meter dash (15.87 seconds) while also finishing second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.79 seconds).
Sam Edwards added a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (4:16.97), and Jesse Moriello contributed with a fifth-place effort in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.76).
In relay action, the 4x100-meter relay team of Christopher Adamchek, Alvara Castillo Clottier Jr., Jaiden Madden and Tyriek Williams placed third with a time of 43.71 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of Omar Elmi, Castillo Clottier Jr., Madden and Brady Madigan finished fifth in 3:44.96.
