Falcons Finish Second in MASCAC Track & Field Championship
Falcons Collect Five Individual Champions
Westfield, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's outdoor track & field team placed second overall with a total of 166 points at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Outdoor Championships this afternoon at Westfield State University. Bridgewater State University captured the 2021 title with a scoring total of 228 points.

How It Happened
Freshman Taban Manyok (Lynn, Mass.) paced the Falcons, claiming the 2021 MASCAC crown in the 800 meter (2:00.56), the 1500 meters (4:13.91) and also had a second place finish in the 5000 meter run (4:15.96). While classmate Nicholas Zeoli (Plymouth, Mass.) had a pair of championship throws in both the discus (38.01m) and the shot put (13.49m). Zeoli had personal records in both wins.
The Falcons also earned another pair of individual MASCAC Championships. In the hammer throw, junior Rodny Bonhomme (Bridgeport, Conn.) had a first place throw of 39.40m, sophomore Carson Doody (Ashby, Mass.) took home victory in the triple jump (13.9m), Doody is just 3cm away from the school record in the event.
Junior Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass) was a workhorse for the Falcons, he finished second in the 800m (2:03.10), second in the 3000m steeplechase (10:24.32), competed in the 400m hurdles (1:08.40) and backboned a second place team finish in the 4X400.

- Benjamin Sacramone (Hubbardston, Mass.) 3rd in the 110m hurdles (17.50), 4th in the 400m hurdles
