Men’s Track Places Fourth At 2026 Coast Guard Brown Bear Invite

Monette & Bourassa notch All-NE qualifying marks for the Green & Gold

New London, CT – The Fitchburg State University Men's Indoor Track & Field placed fourth at the 2026 Coast Guard Brown Bear Invitational today with a total of 62 points from the Gregory Field House.

Senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing first overall in the weight throw with an All-New England qualifying toss of 17.75 meters as well as finishing third overall in the shotput with a DIII NE qualifying mark of 14.16 meters, while senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) placed second overall in the weight throw with an All-NE qualifying throw of 17.61 meters and finished second overall in the shotput with an All-New England qualifying throw of 15,18 meters

Sophomore Shamar Richburg (Rio Vista, TX) was also solid for the Green and Gold, finishing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.12 meters, while newcomer Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) placed first overall in the mile with a time of 4:30.33 and second overall in the 800 meter with a time of 1:58.42.

In the 55 meter, sophomore Jaiden Madden (Lynn, MA) (6.92), sophomore Christopher Adamchek (Carlisle, MA) (7.07), Bourassa (7.10), junior Derrick Tawiah (Worcester, MA) (7.17), and freshman Nathaniel Otor (Peabody, MA) (7.31) placed 244th, 38th, 39th, 45th and 49th respectively, while in the 55 meter hurdles, sophomores Patrick Shaughnessy (Plymouth, MA) and William McGurl (Billerica, MA) finished 11th and 16th with times of 8.71 and 9.05 seconds.

In the mile, juniors Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) and Lemuel Del Valle (Lawrence, MA) placed second and 19th with times of 4:33.59 and 5:32.22, while in the 400 meter, junior Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA) (5th) and classmate Jesse Moriello (Saugus, MA (33th) posted times of 53.85 and 55.89 seconds.

In the 200 meter, Clottier (4th), Madden (20th), Adamchek (29th),Tawiah (30th) and Otor (36th) turned in times of 23.72, 24.80, 25.35, 35.71 and 36.84 seconds, while in the 800 meter, senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (2:06.90), Edwards (2:10.29), senior Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (2:14.06) and Del Valle 2:27.11 finished ninth, 13th, 19th and 25th.

In the 3000 meter, senior Micheal Burns (Worcester, MA) placed 11th overall with a time of 11:03.04, while in the mile, junior Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) (4:38.03), classmate Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) (5:01.90) and junior Lemuel Del Valle (Lawrence, MA) (5:26.10) placed third, 14th and 23rd respectively.

In the field, junior John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) (13th), freshman Cameron Borges (Fall River, MA) (17th), freshman Vishnu Pithani (Mansfield, MA) (19th) and sophomore Joseph Imbracsio (N. Billerica, MA) (22nd) notched tosses of 11.85, 1.33, 10.95 and 10.05 meters in the weight throw, while in the shotput, freshman Cameron Borges (Fall River, MA) (13,23M), Pithani (9.58M) and Imbracsio (9.54M) placed seventh, 21st and 22nd.

In the long jump, freshman Angel Lockward (Santo Domingo, DN) (16th) and newcomer Kevin Tawiah (Worcester, MA) (19th) notched marks of 5.47 meters and 5.13 meters, while freshman Emile Rabinovich (Freeland, WA) placed ninth overall in the pole vault with a mark of 3.10 meters.

In the triple jump, Lockward finished eighth overall with a mark of 10.87 meters.
