Monette & Guevara Mateo Sweep MASCAC MITK Weekly Honors
Monette tabbed field athlete of the week; Guevara Mateo named track & rookie of the week
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week, while freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was selected MASCAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete and Rookie of the week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday
Monette collected his first weekly accolade of the season after placing second overall in the weight throw with an All-New England qualifying toss of 17.54 meters for the Falcons at the 2026 Wesleyan Alumni Invitational on Saturday. With this toss, Monette currently ranks 24th on the DIII indoor performance list.
Guevara Mateo notched his third weekly honor of the 2026 campaign after finishing first overall in 3000 meter with an All-New England qualifying time of 8:29.52 for the Green and Gold at the 2026 Wesleyan Alumni Invitational on Saturday. With his time in the 3000 meter, Guevara Mateo currently ranks 27th nationally in the event.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2026 Harvard Invitational, starting at 10:00AM.
