Men’s Track Excels At 2026 Wesleyan Alumni Invitational
Guevara Mateo qualifies for All-NE in the 3000 meter
Middletown, CT – The Fitchburg State University Men's Indoor Track & Field returned to action as they competed at the 2026 Wesleyan Alumni Invitational today at the Bacon Field House.

How It Happened
Senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing second overall in the weight throw with an All-New England qualifying toss of 17.54 meters, senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) placed third overall in the weight throw with an All-NE qualifying mark of 16.94 meters.
Sophomore Shamar Richburg (Rio Vista, TX) was also solid for the Green and Gold, finishing second in the long jump with a mark of 6.40 meters and third overall In the triple jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 13,39 meters, while newcomer Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) placed first overall in the 3000 meter with an All-New England qualifying time of 8:29.52.
In the 60 meter, sophomore Jaiden Madden (Lynn, MA) (7.50), freshman Nathaniel Otor (Peabody, MA) (7.87), sophomore Jeremiah Marsh (Boston, MA) (7.95), sophomore William McGurl (Billerica, MA) (8.10) and senior David Rodriguez (Hampden, MA) (8.46) finished 22nd, 38th, 40th, 42nd and 43rd respectively, while in the 60 meter hurdles, McGurl finished tenth overall with a time 9.81 seconds.
In the mile, juniors Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) and Lemuel Del Valle (Lawrence, MA) placed second and 19th with times of 4:33.59 and 5:32.22, while in the 400 meter, junior Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA) finished ninth overall with a time of 53.93 seconds.
In the 600 meter, senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (15th), classmate Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) (16th) and junior Jesse Moriello (Saugus, MA) (19th) posted times of 1:32.33, 1:33.35 and 1:36.45, while in the 1000 meter, junior Matthew Gill (Ayer, MA) (9th) and Del Valle (11th) turned in times of 2:58.12 and 3:16.44.
In the 200 meter, Clottier (fifth), Madden (23rd) and Rodriguez (33rd) posted times of 23.62, 25.12 and 27.26 seconds, while in the 800 meter, Edwards finished third overall with a time of 2:05.23. In the 3000 meter, senior Micheal Burns (Worcester, MA) placed eighth overall with a time of 10:45.06.
In the field, junior John Koutsouoa (Birdsboro, PA) and sophomore Joseph Imbracsio (N. Billerica, MA) finished 16th and 24th in the weight throw with tosses of 11.88 meters and 9.29 meters, while in the shotput, Koutsouoa (7th, junior Cameron Borges (Fall River, MA) (14th), newcomer Nathan Murray (North Billerica, MA) (20th) and classmate Vishnu Pithani (Mansfield, MA) (27th) registered tosses of 12.41M, 11.72M, 10.06M and 7.62M.
In the long jump, freshman Angel Lockward (Santo Domingo, DN) finished 20th overall with a mark of 5.53 meters, while freshman Emile Rabinovich (Freeland, WA) placed 11th overall in the pole vault with a mark of 3.25 meters. In the triple jump, junior Tafari Byfield-Felton (Fiskdale, MA) and Lockward placed eighth and 15th with marks of 12.65 and 10.75 meters.
