Richburg Selected MASCAC MITK Rookie & Field Athlete Of The Week

Rio Vista, TX native earns first two weekly accolades 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track sophomore Shamar Richburg (Rio Vista, TX) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field Athlete & Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Richburg collected his first weekly honors of the 2025-26 campaign after finishing first overall in the long jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 6.78 meters as well as placing second overall in triple jump with an All-New England qualifying mark of 13.80 meters for the Falcons at the 2025 Springfield College Season Opener on Saturday.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, January 10th as they compete at the 2026 Wesleyan Indoor Invitational, starting at 10:00AM.
