Hastings Collects MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week Honors
Phillipston, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore Jake Hastings was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's indoor track Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Hastings earns his first weekly honor on the season after leading the way for the Fitchburg State men's indoor track team at the 2015-16 Jay Carisella Invitational, hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday.
The second-year Falcon placed eighth overall in the 5000 meter with a MASCAC qualifying time of 15:48.80, while adding post-season qualifying time of 54.21 seconds in the 400 meter with a 19th place effort.
The Fitchburg State men's and women's indoor track and field teams return to action following the winter break as they complete in the 2015-16 Reggie Poyau Memorial Invite, hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday, January 16th at 11 a.m.
