Fitchburg State Hosts Fourth Annual ICFCU Shootout

The Fitchburg State athletics department is set to host its fourth annual IC Federal Credit Union Shootout this Friday, November 2nd as the Falcons have partnered with local banking provider, IC Federal Credit Union for the 2012 hockey classic.

Falcons team up with IC Federal Credit Union (ICFCU) for 2012 hockey classic

FITCHBURG, Mass. (October 31, 2012) – The Fitchburg State athletics department is set to host its fourth annual IC Federal Credit Union Shootout this Friday, November 2nd as the Falcons have partnered with local banking provider, IC Federal Credit Union for the 2012 hockey classic.

Fitchburg State is teaming up with the IC Federal Credit Union (ICFCU) and is set to host one of the most elite pre-season hockey tournaments this fall. The ICFCU has been a local banking provider since 1928 and has been consistently dedicating itself to the Fitchburg community. The ICFCU has become one of the largest credit unions in the state of Massachusetts and is actively looking forward to the fall hockey classic.

"Fitchburg is a big hockey town...It always has been, the Bruins even used to practice here in the 70's” said Senior Vice President Judy Kaddy. “We even have several key staff members who formerly played or continue to play on local teams, so this year's IC Federal Credit Union Hockey Shootout should be very exciting. We look forward to a successful event and wish all the teams who are participating the best of luck."

Fitchburg State will kick-off the four-team classic on November 2, 2012 as teams from Wentworth, Becker and Worcester State battle in the two-day tournament. Fitchburg State looks to regain its ICFCU Shootout crown after falling to Wentworth last season, 2-0 in the finale. The Falcons skated to a convincing 5-3 victory over Southern New Hampshire University on day one before battling the Leopards in the championship round on Saturday.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with the IC Federal Credit Union for the second annual shootout”, said head hockey coach, Dean Fuller. “It is a great opportunity to give the Fitchburg community a great hockey tournament at the newly renovated Wallace Civic Center.”
