FITCHBURG, Mass. (January 10, 2012) – Senior Bobby Leiser (Monroe, N.Y./New York Applecore) was tabbed the MASCAC’s Ice Hockey Goalie of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Leiser earns his first weekly honor of the season after leading the Fitchburg State ice hockey team to the championship round of the Northfield Savings Bank Invitational hosted by Norwich University. The senior net-minder earned all-tournament honors with a 47 save performance vs. No. 11 ranked Elmira College. The Falcons collected a 1-1 draw with the nationally ranked team, earning a trip to the championship round with a 2-1 shootout victory behind a pair of stops from Leiser.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (3-7-2, 2-3-1 MASCAC) will be back in action on Thursday as it hosts Framingham State at 7 p.m.
