MASCAC Men’s Basketball Pre-Season Poll Announced
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men’s basketball team has been selected to finish fourth in the 2021-22 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Pre-Season Coaches Poll with a total of 21 points as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
Falcons selected fourth in 2021-22 MASCAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's basketball team has been selected to finish fourth in the 2021-22 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Pre-Season Coaches Poll with a total of 21 points as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
The Vikings of Salem State University and the Owls of Westfield State University were chosen to win the 2021-22 MASCAC Men's Basketball title with a total of 32 points each as both teams received three first place ballots to split the vote.
Worcester State followed in the third slot with 24 points, while Fitchburg State University landed fourth in the preseason poll after amassing 21 points. Up next was the Bears of Bridgewater State in the fifth spot with 19 points, while MCLA and Framingham State rounded out this year's preseason poll in sixth and seventh with 13 points and six points respectively.
The Falcons will kick off the year on Friday, November 5th as they travel to UMass Dartmouth to take on the Pilgrims of New England College in first round action of the 2021 Corsairs Tip-off Tournament.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
