Fitchburg State Claims MASCAC Football Fan Play of the Week
WESTFIELD, Mass. - Fitchburg State has claimed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Fan Play of the Week for the second week of the season.
WESTFIELD, Mass. - Fitchburg State has claimed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Fan Play of the Week for the second week of the season.
Fitchburg State took home the top play of the second week with 45 percent of the vote. Other excellent plays that were considered from around the MASCAC came from Massachusetts Maritime, UMass Dartmouth and Western Connecticut State.
The play that earned Fitchburg State MASCAC Football Fan Play of the Week honors occured in the team's 21-7 victory over the Curry College Colonels. Attempting an on-side kick, the Colonels' Jordan Shairs sliced one towards Falcons' returner Phillip Sainte-Juste who picked up the ball and raced across midfield and down the left sideline for a 51 yard touchdown. The Falcons will be back in action on Friday as they host Framingham State at 7:00 pm at Elliot field.
