Drury Earns ECAC DIII NE Co-Player Of The Week Honors

Ashburnham, Mass. bats .571 en route to first ECAC weekly honor
FITCHBURG, Mass. (March 26, 2014) – Freshman Steven Drury, Jr. (Ashburnham, Mass.) was tabbed the ECAC Division III New England Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The freshman outfielder batted .571 (8-for-14) with a double, two triples, home run, five RBI and six runs scored in a 3-0 week for the Falcons. Drury went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBI in Fitchburg State's 12-0 win over Rivier on Tuesday before adding a 3-for-5 effort at the plate with a double, triple, two runs scored and an RBI in the Falcons 6-5 victory against Anna Maria on Wednesday afternoon. Steven capped the week with a pair hits, including a home run, RBI and two runs scored in the Green and Gold's 10-4 win over Wentworth on Friday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State baseball team returns to action on Saturday as it hosts the Vikings of Salem State University for a double header starting at 12 p.m.
