The MASCAC Presidential Sportsmanship Award honors an individual or team who has distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior on and off the field. This year, Fitchburg State had two deserving recipients as its Women's Lacrosse team and graduate Phil McCormack (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) collected the league's prestigious honor.
In lieu of the Sportsmanship Day activities, the first 100 fans into Saturday's football contest will also receive a genuine, Fitchburg State Athletics rally towel to cheer on the Falcons. Fitchburg State will be playing host to the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth in a non-divisional New England Football Conference battle starting at 1:30 p.m. This season, the Falcons have posted an overall record of 1-1 and a 0-0 mark in the NEFC, while the Corsairs are looking to snap a two-game slide after opening the season with a 0-2 clip.
Through partnership with media-mogul, Penn Atlantic, all home contests will also be available via the internet by visiting http://www.mascac.tv . All webcasts will provide live video and audio feeds, with play-by-play announcing and commentary for all home events.
