Fitchburg State Shines At MIT Last Chance Qualifier

Steele earns pair of top ten finishes to pace Falcons 

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's outdoor track & field team was in action this week, completing in the 2017 MIT Last Chance Qualifier Meet on Thursday evening at the MIT Henry G. Steinbrenner Track.

Senior Morgan Steele led the way for the Falcons, placing third overall in the shot put with a throw of 10.94 meters to go along with a tenth place effort in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.32 meters, while junior Annie Woolley finished third overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a solid time of 14.67 seconds to round out the top Fitchburg State performances on the day.

The Fitchburg State women's outdoor track team returns to action next week as select members compete in the 2017 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted by the Spire Institute in Geveva, Ohio, starting on Thursday, May 25th.
