Paschal Collects 200th Career Victory At Fitchburg State
Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Walter Paschal recently captured another Fitchburg State milestone, earning his 200th career victory this past weekend with a 75-71 victory over Westfield State on Saturday afternoon.

FITCHBURG, Mass. (February 18, 2013) – Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Walter Paschal recently captured another Fitchburg State milestone, earning his 200th career victory this past weekend with a 75-71 victory over Westfield State on Saturday afternoon.
At the University, Paschal has been active on the sidelines, posting a .551 winning percentage over his 14 seasons with an overall record of 200-163. Throughout his tenure, he has led the Falcons to a MASCAC regular season championship, a MASCAC tournament title, and the program's first-ever, NCAA Tournament berth. In addition, Paschal has produced 19 All-Conference players over his first 13 years at the helm, including, two Rookies of the Year and two MASCAC Player of the Year.
"This accomplishment is a clear indication of the consistent level of success that Walter has achieved throughout his tenure at Fitchburg State,” said Director of Athletics Sue Lauder. “He works hard to give our student athletes an excellent intercollegiate athletic experience."
Even more recently, Paschal witnessed some overwhelming success as his 2011-12 campaign posted one of his strongest starts to a season with an unprecedented 13-0 mark to open the year. The Falcons finished with an overall mark of 16-9 and qualified for the MASCAC playoffs as the sixth-seed, while naming one player to the MASCAC All-Conference team and the DIII Hoops All-Region team.
This year, Fitchburg State has reached the MASCAC playoffs once again, claiming the fifth-seed in the 2012-13 tournament. The Falcons boasted an overall record of 11-13 with a 4-8 mark in the MASCAC. Fifth-seeded Fitchburg State is set to square off against fourth-seeded Framingham State, as they travel to the Rams, Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
