Shirley, Mass. native picks up second weekly accolade of the year
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore forward Tyler Warila (Shirley, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Warila notches his second weekly honor of the season after netting nine points on three goals and six assists in a 1-1-1 week for the Falcons. The second-year forward posted four points on one marker and three helpers in a 9-3 win over Westfield State on Thursday before adding two goals and one assist for three points in a 4-4 overtime draw with Worcester State on Saturday. Finished the week with an assist in a 6-2 setback to Colby College on Sunday.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (10-6-3, 5-4-3 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it travels to UMass Dartmouth to take on the Corsairs for a contest starting at 7:35 P.M.
