Leominster, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the year
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman infielder Andrew Curran was tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The first-year Falcon batted .389 (7-for-18) with a double, two runs scored and four RBI in a 3-3 week for the Green and Gold. Hit a combined 3-of-7 with a double, one run scored and two RBI in a sweep of Hamilton College on Wednesday before adding three hits and two RBI in a double header split against RPI on Thursday.
The Fitchburg State baseball team (4-6, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it travels to Clark University for a contest starting at 3:30 p.m.
