Matt Muolo
Men's Track
As a member of the men's indoor and outdoor track and field teams, Matt Muolo played a key role in the Falcons successful 2010-11 season.
Along with his six post-season honors, Muolo dominated the Fitchburg State throwing arena like no other. This year, he has rewritten the Falcon record books, posting program marks in both the indoor and outdoor shot-put and the discus.
In addition to his record book success, he has also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Track & Field Championships, while setting a new MASCAC mark in the weight throw. He is a nine time Player of the Week, a four-time All-Conference member and pound for pound, one of the finest throwers in New England.

John Phelan
Baseball
As a member of the baseball team, John Phelan etched his name in the Fitchburg State record books, breaking five all-time career marks and four single-season records.
He currently ranks as the program’s leader with 182 career hits, while also topping the record books in runs scored, steals, doubles, and at-bats.
In addition to his career accolades, Phelan also registered single season records with 59 hits in a year, 150 at-bats, 48 runs scored and 13 doubles.
He is a .349 lifetime hitter at the University and a two-time MASCAC All-Conference honoree.

Emily Lane
Cross Country, Track & Field
In just two seasons at the collegiate level, Emily Lane has re-written the Fitchburg State record books setting new program marks in both the indoor and outdoor pole-vault.
She has qualified for the post-season in each of her two years at the University, missing the NCAA Championships by only a half inch in the high-jump.
In addition to her accolades on the track, Lane also serves as the top runner on the Fitchburg State cross country team. She has proven to be a versatile runner and one of the best all-around athlete in New England.

Chris Riggs
Ice Hockey
Chris Riggs is a young man who has succeeded both on the ice and in the classroom. He is a four-year member of the Fitchburg State ice hockey team, earning MASCAC All-Academic honors each of his four seasons.
In addition to his academic success, Riggs also performed on the ice, leading the Falcons to a 2011 MASCAC Championship. He finished his career with 133 career points, making him the 28th Falcon to eclipse the 100 point plateau.
Upon graduating with a 3.52 GPA in Criminal Justice, he will be attending the Florida Coastal School of Law to pursue his law degree.

Connie Perry
Women's Lacrosse
Connie Perry is a two-year captain of the women’s lacrosse team who has demonstrated extraordinary effort in both her academic and extracurricular activities.
Off the field, she led the Fitchburg State Exercise and Sport Science team to a first place finish at the seventh annual College Bowl and more recently was honored as the Outstanding Student in Exercise and Sport Science at the University’s 34th annual Honors Convocation
On the field, Perry is a two-time All-Conference player and currently ranks as Fitchburg State’s all-time career leader in groundballs.
She holds a 3.53 GPA in Exercise & Sports Science and has served as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Billy Pescosolido
Ice Hockey
Billy Pescosolido is truly a leader in every sense of the word.
He has consistently motivated his peers by example, leading the Fitchburg State ice hockey to the 2011 MASCAC Championship. He has been a four year member of the ice hockey team, serving a primary role on the Falcons defensive line.
This season, he received a trio of post-season honors, including a MASCAC All-Conference first team nomination and a New England Sports Writers All-Region accolade.
A semifinalist for the prestigious Joe Concannon Award, this young man dominated the MASCAC, ranking as the top scoring defensemen in the conference.

Molly Maloney
Women's Basketball
Molly Maloney has been a two-year captain of the Fitchburg State women’s basketball team.
Through her hard work and outstanding leadership, Maloney led Fitchburg State back to the post-season, totaling 8.2 points per game with 47 assists and 34 steals.
Known for her hustle on the court, Maloney is quoted as a player who "leaves everything on the floor day in and day out.”

Torey Van Ahnen
Field Hockey
Torey Van Ahnen has been an extraordinary leader throughout her collegiate career.
As a four-year member and captain of the Fitchburg State field hockey team, she has served as the backbone of the Falcons defense. Throughout her 64 games played, she has led the team by example, possessing a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
On the field, she put the Falcons atop the Little East Conference in goals allowed and shutouts, while earning All-Conference second team honors her senior season.

Katie Hayward
Women's Soccer
Katie Hayward is a women’s soccer player who demonstrated courage and spirit in every sense of the words.
During her sophomore season, Hayward suffered a devastating injury, fracturing her back on the playing field. After months of therapy and wearing a brace, she underwent surgery and had several pins inserted in her lower back to repair the fracture.
After a year of therapy and rehab, she returned to the women’s soccer team without missing a beat.
She was named to the 2010 MASCAC All-Conference team, while serving as the anchor of the midfield throughout the season.

Cory Callen
Ice Hockey
Cory Callen is a sophomore, Business Management major from Annadale, N.J.
As a member of the Fitchburg State ice hockey team, this young man made a significant impact in the Falcons pursuit of the 2011 MASCAC Championship.
Over the course of the season, he tallied 30 points, finishing third on the team in scoring with 11 goals and 19 assists.

Rachel Jamieson
Women's Soccer
Rachel Jamieson is a freshman, Psychology major from Foxboro, Massachusetts.
In the fall, this young lady dominated the pitch, ranking first on the women’s soccer team with 19 points. She appeared in all 18 games for the Falcons, totaling nine goals and one assist, including five game-winning markers.
For her efforts, she was named to the 2011 MASCAC All Conference second team.
